Solely to provide minus: estimating nutrition from your descriptions, tracking your day against your targets, and generating your weekly insights. We do not sell your data. Nothing you log in the app — your meals, calories, body metrics, or Apple Health data — is ever used for advertising, shared with advertising platforms, or used to build advertising audiences. We do not share your data with data brokers. Our marketing website, tellminus.com, uses separate analytics and advertising cookies with your consent; that is described under Website analytics & advertising below and is entirely separate from your app data.
If you connect Apple Health, minus reads your step count and active energy to adjust your daily calorie budget, and may write your logged dietary energy back to Health at your request. HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties except as required to provide the feature you asked for. You can revoke access anytime in the Health app.
We use a small number of processors to run minus: Supabase (database and authentication), OpenAI (voice transcription), Anthropic (nutrition estimation), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Concretely: when you log by voice, your audio recording is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, and the resulting text description is sent to Anthropic to estimate its nutrition. Both receive only what you said about your food — never your name, email, weight, goals, or history. Neither stores your audio, and both are contractually restricted from using API data to train their models. Our nutrition numbers are AI estimates for personal awareness — not medical advice.
minus Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple's App Store. Payments, billing details, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy — we never receive your payment card information. We use RevenueCat as a processor to validate your purchase with Apple and keep your subscription status in sync across devices; RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user id, your purchase receipt, and subscription status, and is contractually restricted to processing this data solely to provide the service. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings. Deleting your minus account does not cancel your Apple subscription — cancel it at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
This section covers our marketing website, tellminus.com — not the minus app.
With your consent, we use Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms), Google Analytics 4, and the Google Ads conversion tag on this website. These set cookies and similar identifiers to measure how people find the site, how the pages perform, and whether our ads work, and they allow us to show ads to people who have visited the site. They load only after you accept in the banner shown on your first visit — if you decline, or make no choice, no advertising or analytics tag is loaded at all.
What we never send. These website tags receive only generic page and event signals: a page view, a click on an App Store link, and a completed email sign-up. We never transmit your email address, name, or any other identifier to an advertising platform, and we never transmit anything you log in the app — no calories, meals, weights, goals, or Apple Health data. We do not build advertising audiences from our app's users, and we do not upload customer lists to advertising platforms.
Changing your mind. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies and site data in your browser, which restores the choice banner. You can also opt out through your Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where they are sent.
If you visit this website but never create a minus account, the only information we hold about you is this website analytics data — plus your email address, if you chose to give it to us.
Some of what you log in minus is consumer health data: your food and calorie intake, weight, and activity. We collect it only with your explicit opt-in consent, given during onboarding, and use it solely to provide the tracking and insights you asked for. We do not sell consumer health data, do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and do not use it for marketing. This holds for our website as well as the app: the analytics and advertising tags on tellminus.com load only with your consent, never receive anything you log in minus, and are never used to build audiences based on health status. You can withdraw consent and delete all of your health data at any time by deleting your account in the app (Profile → delete account) or emailing hello@tellminus.com.
Washington and Nevada residents: under the Washington My Health My Data Act and Nevada SB 370, you have the right to confirm whether we collect consumer health data, access it, withdraw consent, and have it deleted. This section serves as our Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice; requests can be sent to hello@tellminus.com and we will respond within the statutory period. We do not sell consumer health data and therefore do not offer a sale opt-out because there is nothing to opt out of.
minus is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Insights describe patterns in your own logs — bring persistent symptoms to a healthcare professional.
You can delete your account and all associated data instantly in the app (Me → delete account), or email hello@tellminus.com and we'll do it within 48 hours. You may also request an export of your data. minus is not directed at children under 13.
